A consultant has been undertaking a review of PC Passport to address the assessment issues. I am looking for some help with the changes required to the ASPs for levels 5 and 6 so that the new material will be ready for centres early in 2010. The recommendations are very detailed and specific guidelines will be provided. If you are interested in helping with this work please contact me.

Having just finished delivery of F1FF 12 Internet and Online Communications using the ASP 001/V2.0 for assessment. I found achievement of Outcome 2 - encrypted emails to be impossible from within college as student emails' were not set up properly. Students had to use their home systems to set up a digital certificate and I had to send emails from my home system. It was very difficult to support students through the set up process and I felt it was inappropriate to be using private email addresses. All that work for merely sending and receiving....... I would suggest that some flexibility be included eg sending encrypted documents with password transmitted under separate cover? and perhaps a written assessment of understanding of the process of sending/receiving encrypted mail would be more manageable.
